A Workshop Dedicated To Building Bluegrass Instruments

Kentucky Guitar Works is the first of its kind in western Kentucky offering luthier workshops, educational sessions for aspiring instrument builders, apprenticeship programs, along with restoration of the traditional instruments of bluegrass music. The center is also home to the luthier in residence Faris Guitar Co LLC that is bringing to the bluegrass town of Owensboro a guitar and stringed instrument fabricating shop specializing in handcrafted, highly regarded acoustic instruments.

Kentucky Guitar Works is dedicated to building and strengthening an art-based economic sector through education, business development and support services for bluegrass music artists and luthiers as well as other music genres. This sector includes crafters, musicians, storytellers and others who carry on the cultural traditions of bluegrass music.
